Anne Briggs

 

 

 

Anne Briggs, Baroque Flute, performs regularly on the baroque flute (traversa), the classical flute and the usual contemporary silver instrument. As a member of the Aulos Ensemble for twenty years, she has concertized and toured extensively and recorded major baroque flute repertoire to critical acclaim. She is principal flutist with the Philadelphia Classical Symphony and performs with the New York Collegium (that city's latest early music organization), American Classical Orchestra, Four Nations and Concert Royal. She has been a featured soloist at numerous festivals and has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble. A graduate of the Juilliard School and a Fulbright Scholar, Ms. Briggs studied with the preeminent flutists of the century Julius Baker and Jean-Pierre Rampal. She has presented historical performance lecture/demonstrations at the Juilliard and Manhattan Schools and at colleges and universities throughout the United States.
