The Choir of St. Ignatius Loyola
The Choir of St. Ignatius Loyola is a fully-professional ensemble drawn from the best of New York's professional choral singers. They are each soloists in their own right in a variety of genres ranging from early music to opera and oratorio. The resident sixteen-member ensemble at St. Ignatius Loyola sings a demanding schedule of 46 weekly parish services, bringing to parish worship immensely beautiful choral music ranging from early chant and organum to music of our time, with particular emphasis on the sacred Renaissance repertoire and Gregorian chant. Additionally, choir members serve as soloists for over 100 weddings and funerals each year at St. Ignatius Loyola, and they participate in the Sacred Music in a Sacred Space concert series both as soloists and as choral singers.
