Lisa Terry

 

 

 

Lisa Terry, Viola da Gamba, brings to her performances on the viola da gamba and early violoncello an expressive and inspiring artistry that has earned her the acclaim of audiences and critics alike. Ms. Terry is an avid chamber musician, and is a member of ARTEK, Concert Royal, the Dryden Ensemble and Parthenia. She earned her degree in violoncello performance from Memphis State University and continued her studies in New York with Richard Taruskin, viol, and Harry Wimmer, violoncello. Ms. Terry appears as soloist in the Passions of J.S. Bach with orchestras throughout the Northeast, most recently under the baton of Robert Shaw in Carnegie Hall. She has taught viol at Colombia University and at the Conclave of the Viola da Gamba Society of America. She has recorded for Lyrichord, Newport Classics, and Musical Heritage Society.
